With our current wire label printer nearing the end of its lifespan and our workload increasing due to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/feed\/update\/urn:li:activity:7140668493183479809\">new customers.<\/a> It&#8217;s time for an upgrade. We aim to enhance efficiency in our workshop by automating our box build workflow, which is becoming increasingly vital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.feed4ward.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Phoenix_contact_van_exterior.jpg\" alt=\"Phoenix Contact\" class=\"wp-image-1361\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>One major bottleneck in our process involves multiple tedious steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Printing all necessary labels on a long strip of heat-shrink<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cutting the strip into individual labels<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Measuring and cutting the wire<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Opening the flattened tube of heat-shrink to insert the label<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applying, stripping, and crimping the wire, followed by a tug test to ensure security.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This procedure is not only slow but also labour-intensive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video height=\"750\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 1000 \/ 750;\" width=\"1000\" controls loop muted src=\"https:\/\/www.feed4ward.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/output.webm\"><\/video><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Cutting, labelling, stripping and crimping a wire.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Phoenix Contact offers several tools designed to automate and streamline these tasks, significantly speeding up the process and reducing the potential for errors. Our immediate need was a new printer, leading us to discover the <strong>Phoenix Thermomark E.300D<\/strong>. The <strong>CF 3000-2,5<\/strong> achieves this in just 1.5 seconds, accommodating various ferrule sizes from 0.25 mm\u00b2 to 2.5 mm\u00b2, all with minimal fuss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, we are considering the <strong>Cutfox 10<\/strong>, a machine that measures and cuts panel wires to specified lengths based on a preloaded table of required measurements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A special thanks to Tony from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.phoenixcontact.com\/en-gb\/\">Phoenix Connect<\/a> for his demonstration of these transformative tools.
